DTM again partner of the ?Ball des Sports 2009?
Wiesbaden ? DTM, the most popular international touring car series, will also be the partner of the 39th ?Ball des Sports?. The 2009 edition of the rich in tradition event will be held on Saturday, 7th February, in Wiesbaden?s ?Rhein-Main-Hallen?. For the third time, now, DTM supports the exclusive festivity and is responsible for the ?DTM Race Club?, the official after-show party of Europe?s most successful benefit event.
Every year, celebrities from sports, economy, politics, culture and the media meet at the ?Ball des Sports?. For this year?s edition, the likes of former world-class swimmer Franziska von Almsick, former Boxing World Champion Regina Halmich, the UEFA?s Vice President Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder as well as Germany?s Secretary of Commerce Michael Glos or top-class cook Johan Lafer have announced to come. They all will be joined by numerous 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics medallists. And it goes without saying that motor racing also will be represented by an impressive fraction: reigning DTM Champion Timo Scheider (Audi), Ralf Schumacher and his wife Cora, Scotland?s DTM driver Susie Stoddart (Mercedes-Benz) and Audi works driver Martin Tomczyk ? accompanied by his companion in life, Christina Surer.

This year, Johannes B. Kerner will host the event themed ?The Course of the World? for the tenth time. Roger Cicero and ?Die S?hne Mannheims? will entertain the guests with an outstanding musical programme before the latter will party the rest of the ?2009 Ball des Sports? night away in the ?DTM Race Club?.
