In 2025, Mercedes-Benz Classic will celebrate numerous vehicle anniversaries as well as the anniversaries of motorsport successes and company occasions. Press releases, the “Mercedes-Benz Classic Notes” and the “Mercedes-Benz Classic Motorsport Newsletter” will provide information on these and other topics in the course of the year.

The following overview lists important anniversaries for 2025:

    23 January 1995 (30 years ago): The first Sprinters leave the Düsseldorf plant. The new van sets standards – as does the Vito, which makes its début on 16 October 1995.
    18 February 1925 (100 years ago): The Mercedes star in the laurel wreath is registered as the new Mercedes-Benz trademark in the run-up to the 1926 merger.
    2 April 1900 (125 years ago): The Mercedes brand name comes into being. DMG sales partner Emil Jellinek bases it on the first name of his daughter Mércèdes.
    21 March 2000 (25 years ago): Mercedes-Benz presents the new C-Class of the 203 model series. Star violinist Vanessa Mae accompanies the première with the song “The Power of C”.
    30 April 1955 (70 years ago): Stirling Moss and co-driver Denis Jenkinson win the Mille Miglia with the new 300 SLR (W 196 S) racing sports car, setting a course record.
    15 May 1975 (50 years ago): 450 SEL 6.9 is the name of the new top-of-the-range model from Mercedes-Benz. Its V8 engine has the largest swept volume in the German automotive industry.
    30 May 2000 (25 years ago): Première for the Mercedes-Benz CL 55 AMG “F1 Limited Edition” special model, the world’s first production vehicle with ceramic brakes.
    24 June 1995 (30 years ago): The E-Class of the 210 model series comes on the market. It is launched with a twin headlamp face and more than 30 technological innovations.
    29 August 1885 (140 years ago): Gottlieb Daimler patents the “riding car”. On 10 November, his son Adolf drives the test vehicle from Cannstatt to Untertürkheim.
    16 to 26 September 1965 (60 years ago): The luxury class 108/109 model series makes its début at the IAA in Frankfurt/Main. Stylistically, it clearly sets itself apart from the mid-range models.
    8 October 2000 (25 years ago): Bernd Schneider becomes DTM champion of the year 2000. His vehicle: the Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM.
    25 October 2015 (10 years ago): Lewis Hamilton secures the 2015 Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship - his third overall with the Silver Arrows. Since 2014, Mercedes has won seven drivers' titles (six for Hamilton, one for Rosberg) and eight constructors' titles.
    22 November 1900 (125 years ago): The first Mercedes 35 PS is completed and delivered a month later. It is regarded as the world’s first modern automobile. This gives rise to the Mercedes-Simplex model family.
    28 November 1890 (135 years ago): Foundation of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG).
