Mercedes-Benz Canada breaks the 20,000 mark for the first time and reports
its best all time October
TORONTO, ON ? Mercedes-Benz Canada reported today its best October ever
with a total of 1,990 Mercedes-Benz and smart combined units registered
for the month. This is up 482 units or 32.0% compared to October 2007
and represents an increase of 33.1% year-to-date. Total sales of 20,563
units year-to-date establishes a significant milestone for Mercedes-Benz
Canada by clearly surpassing the 20,000 unit mark for the first time in
the company?s history.
A total of 1,720 Mercedes-Benz vehicles were delivered in October. This
represents the best October ever, a gain of 229 units or a 15.4%
increase compared to October 2007 and pushes the year-to-date growth to
29.2%.
smart reported a total of 270 vehicles delivered in the month of
October. Year-to-date smart has sold a total of 3,422 units, which is up
1,244 units or 57.1% from this time last year.
Very strong B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, SL-Class, M-Class and R-Class
model sales contributed to October?s success. This month the
award-winning C-Class continued to be a top choice among Canadians and
was ahead 195 units for October. SL-Class deliveries were up an
impressive 61.5%, and sales of the luxurious E-Class showed a gain of
43.0% for the month. The company?s diesel sales ratio was 51.7% for the
month while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC? units accounted for 72.7%
of the overall passenger car and light truck sales (excluding smart).
Total Mercedes-Benz passenger car sales of 1,246 units were ahead by 158
units, a 14.5% gain for the month and up 33.0% on a year-to-date basis.
With 474 units sold in the month of October the M-Class, R-Class and
GL-Class continued to achieve strong sales on the luxury light truck
side. Light trucks have grown 18.3% so far this year with 4,041 units
delivered.
On the pre-owned side, the company reported 488 Mercedes-Benz units
delivered for the month of October. This brings the year-to-date total
to 6,007 units, which represents an increase of 10.8% compared to this
time last year.
